What is Solidarity?
We are a member of our community, if you think you have done enough for yourself help the other members and if not, ask help from the other members. Solidarity is about building unity in your surroundings, groups, friends, neighbors and other members of your community. We can build unity within our community by simply helping each other to reach their goal, just like in the game soccer, you and your teammates need to help each other to shoot the ball into your goal, teamwork, you should cooperate and not only watch them, because if you watch in a blink of your eye your team will lose. Apply that in real life “teamwork” help the others in need, share your blessings, if you do this people will also give help when you need it.
Every September, Vigan City celebrates the World Heritage Cities Solidarity Cultural Festival. This month-long festivity, in solidarity with other World Heritage Cities around the world, aims to strengthen the pride in the city’s history and culture, promote friendship and diversity between countries and serves as a great venue for forging ties and understanding through community’s involvement in the city’s various activities that highlights love for culture, arts and entertainment.
